There are no new releases this month (I haven't been feeling well enough to do the work), so instead I've put my entire catalogue on sale. Everything is 20% off for the whole month of September (the discount shows up at the shopping cart, not in the main pages).

Hi Kerry,
I've been enjoying your book reviews, as always.
I'm sorry you're having trouble getting through Robin Hobbs "Ship of Destiny". I read this series a year or two ago and loved it. I've also read the "Assassin" series which was also quite good. I want to read the next series "Fools" etc but would prefer to collect the books in hardcover, and they're proving hard to find.
I remember reading "The Sword of Shannara" way back when it first came out. I remember how the reviewers gave it all kinds of grief because they said it was a rip off of Tolkien's books. I don't remember much of the story now, but I think I enjoyed the book at the time, at least enough to finish it. I still have the book and once in awhile consider rereading it. Your review has given me pause however, and some of your points seem to strike a bell in my memory.
I was interested to read about "The War of the Worlds" recording. Is this the same one which came out in the 70's. It featured music written by Justin Haywood of the Moody Blues and the character of the reporter (I think) was voiced by Richard Burton. One of the songs on that recording is a great favourite of mine..."Forever Autumn". I suspect that the version you're writing about is different. But still based on the story by H.G. Wells I expect.
I've looked over the books by J.D. Robb (Nora Roberts) and considered reading them, being curious about the time and characters. I didn't realize that there are so many of them though! I know this author is prolific, but Holy Cats!! I prefer to read a book series in order, but that would be a lot of catching up to do.
The scrap pages featuring Marcus (little imp) are a delight as always. What chubby cheeks he had, eh?
Hope you are taking care Kerry. Hugs to you and Marcus. I'll be thinking of you both this week.
Cheers!! Judy
