At last I've done it. I've finished part 9 of Alpine Seasons and completed the ring of mountains. I was beginning to feel like it would never be done.
I'm delighted with how it looks.
I know I still have 3 parts to go now, but I kind of feel like I'm at the beginning of the end now. I've gone over the top of the enormous mountains that was that huge ring of stitching and I can see the destination in the distance.
I'm going to keep working on this project for now as I want to see something new and different from those mountains coming to life.
I'm a bit tired - I haven't done steady stitching for a while - but very satisfied too.

Alpine Seasons is looking fabulous!
I ordered this recently, and contemplated starting it today. I was overwhelmed with all of the fibers and instructions!!! I do plan to start it soon, though. How long have you been working on it?
I started in when the group started, so well over two years now. I kept up with the group until we started those four parts that make up the mountains and got slower and slower. It did also get put away for quite a while at one point in that time.
Oh CONGRATULATIONS!!! I know how hard those mountains are but it's so worth it. The outside won't take as long as you might think - it's so much fun with the different colours and the backstitched flowers in the corners go surprisingly fast :)
Wish I was there to see it - I miss our get togethers :(

Kerry, it's wonderful! Seeing how some of us have little more than ten stitches in our own Alpine Seasons, I am muchly jealous of yours!! Congrats on getting this far.

I love the Far Horizons page you made. It's beautiful, and quite poignant. The day at the beach looked like fun. Especially since it's a windy, wet, cool day here.
Reading through your book reviews...
I've often considered picking up a Dorothy Dunnet book to try, but haven't done so yet. Perhaps it's time I did, eh?
I like reading Nora Roberts for a time out too, after reading other, more intense books. She's usually pretty dependable.
I never use to read short stories either, but lately I've picked up a couple of paranormal short story books and have read them right the way through. It's a good way to try out new authors.

Oh wow! Absolutely gorgeous. I fell in love with this one when it was first previewed and would have loved to have done the class. Now every time you show us a progress pic I want to cave and get it. Maybe next year :) Meanwhile I will live vicariously through you.
