Invisible Clouds

Here's my current progress on The Ice Dragon's Kingdom.

There really are clouds there, I swear. But they are so pale that they are very hard to see. The model was stitched on a light grey (I think) and I chose to use White Opalescent, so I hope it will all work out fine and I haven't made a mistake with my fabric choice.

I was going to do all the background and then the dragon, until I realised that the whole dragon is stitched in either Anchor Marlitt or Kreiniks, so instead I'm going to progress my way down the chart and try to spread out the different kinds of thread. I think I might go insane if I tried to do all that stitching with Marlitt at the end as it is rather fussy to use.

i am sure once the whole thing is done the clouds will look great, it will add to the whole icy cold feel of the piece...

i have never used Marlitt and to hear everyone talk.. i don't think i ever will..
i have never heard anyone say something nice....

I love the colours that come out in the border

I see the clouds too - congratulations on your progress. I did "why hoard gold" a few years back and that is packed with marlitt... i don't know if it is because I was in my early twenties and liked xtreme stitching but I don't have bad marlitt memories... :)

Thanks everyone. I'm hoping to get a bit more stitching in today (Tuesday) if Marcus is willing and decides to behave and not try to eat my threads or something.
